3D ProjectionMan Is Here!

National Media Services and 3D collaboration partner Integrated Visions Productions have struck again.  This time IVP came to NMS with a passion project, that was not only fascinating, but groundbreaking as it relates to 3D Building Mapping Projections.
The location was City Hall Park, New York City.  The concept was to 3D map the amazing group of large, and varied outdoor sculptures of famed artist Sol LeWitt that is on display in the park.  LeWitt was an American artist linked to various movements.  He is credited as a founder of both Minimal and Conceptual art.  His prolific two and three-dimensional work extends from what you see on paper and canvas to these engaging structures in the form of towers, pyramids, geometric forms, and progressions. These works range in size from gallery-sized installations to monumental outdoor pieces.
Inspired by the work of  Sol LeWitt, IVP got to work with their awesome animation team to make this exciting execution a reality with shapes and colors that mirrored the work of the artist.  These animations brought the work of LeWitt a newly mapped 3D life.  IVP called in to NMS to see about projecting on the sculptures, and they asked what ProjectionMan was doing on a hot Summer Night.

According to Eric Davis Chief Operating Officer at NMS, ”ProjectionMan was the obvious choice here because he can literally project onto anything and these structures were a good fit for ProjectionMan.” After we took over US Cellular Field in Chicago for BP, we deployed one ProjectionMan back to NYC for this very important artistic endeavor.”  In looking at the way IVP collaborated with ProjectionMan for this amazing artistic display, it became obvious that we also projectionmappingman_demo_nyc_sol_lewitt_062611-127.jpghad a new offering for our clients.  Smaller scale 3D executions on multiple locations.   The number of people that stopped to stare at the 3D mapping of the LeWitt pieces was a testimony to the incredible 3D work of IVP and the relevance of street level branding at eye level to consumers.”

Take a look at the video here, it is all raw footage from the field with no post production whatsoever other than a music track.  Email us today for more information about the 3D ProjectionMan execution.  eric@nmsooh.com

An Express Clean Sweep in New Orleans!

Turning dirt roads into golden paths of prosperity, that is the thought behind NMS’s Clean Graffiti.  American fashion retailer Express was looking to make their mark in “The Big Easy”  and wanted to put their brand and their Rock the Sidewalk pop up fashion show front and center with residents and visitors of the in the French Quarter.
Express called on NMS to brand the sidewalks with the information for the event and create a unique street buzz, literally.  NMS saturated the French Quarter and Bourbon Street with clean graffiti placements announcing the event and driving consumers to the corner of Dumaine and Royal streets for the Fashion Show.

ProjectionMan Takes The BP Crosstown Cup By Storm!

We came, we saw, we Projected!  That is what ProjectionMan is all about!  ProjectionMen are  a special projection operations force that National Media Services and technology partner BlueBlastMedia deploys for those special projection executions.  When there is no large wall space to be found, ProjectionMan finds and projects on the space that we make.  NMS and BBM sent

ProjectionMan Team 1 into the civil war atmosphere of the BP Crosstown Cup at Chicago’s US Cellular Field.   The mission for Team 1 was to project images where no man has ever projected before, to engage, excite and interact with the 34,000 baseball fans that were present at the annual head-to-head interleague series between the Chicago Cubs and Chicago White Sox!  The challenge here was we could not use the wall space around the ballpark or on the ballpark, so we were allowed to utilize the sidewalk.  Creative collaboration partner IVP produced the creative for BP based on the assets that the client provided.
For 14 years nothing has stirred the emotions of Chicago baseball fans like the BP Crosstown Cup. BP, the official fuel sponsor of the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago White Sox, called on NMS and BBM to bring North- and South-Siders together to bare those raw emotions online and tell the story of what exactly fuels their passion for their favorite team.

During the game it was Cubs against White Sox, friends against friends and even family members against one another as they root for their favorite Chicago baseball team.  But at the end of the day the two sides agreed on one thing, ProjectionMan was “freakin’ cool!”  Check Out the video here.
